Busch Gardens, Pasadena, Part 2: Lower Gardens

Pasadena’s amazing Busch Gardens, famous as a tourist attraction from 1906-1937, and later as a Hollywood film location, was subdivided for residential development in the 1930s and 1940s. Surprisingly, many features of the Gardens still exist in the private gardens of present-day residents. A City survey found over 30 sites that still retain significant remnants of the original Gardens. Many of the current property owners take great pride in preserving and enhancing these historic features, and are happy to show them to visitors. California Garden and Landscape History Society has gained access to several of these hidden treasures for Part 2 of our tour, which features areas of the lower gardens.

Tickets are $30/$40 for non-members (including guests of members). Thirty of the 40 tickets are reserved for CGLHS members!

This California Garden & Landscape History Society event will take place on private property. Our garden hosts do not carry liability insurance for such events. The gardens we visit may have uneven paths and steps and changes in garden levels with no handrails. We remind each of you to be responsible for your own health and safety by wearing comfortable shoes, being aware of your surroundings, watching your step, and asking for assistance whenever needed.
